Michael McMorrow founded Carolina Livery Service in 1987 with one van, one sedan, and a strong focus on customer service and satisfaction. His goal in these early days was to meet the needs of our growing region, which continues to grow to this day. Over the next three decades, Carolina Livery Service grew to become the largest fleet of small and mid-size buses east of the Mississippi. We are a service-oriented company with decades of experience in passenger transportation, ranging from corporate events and remote parking shuttles to weddings, out of town tours, and school field trips. Carolina Livery buses are known for safely taking visitors to our national monuments in Washington D.C. and to Broadway shows in New York City. We transport our clients to the breath-taking mountains in western North Carolina and the peaceful coastal towns to the east. WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT?
If you need transportation for an upcoming event, our knowledgeable reservations staff will walk you through the process from inquiry to contract and, finally, to event execution. Our staff can help you work out a transportation plan for your trip or event that will best fit your needs and your budget. With a fleet focusing on mid-size buses, we have a distinct flexibility in terms of configuring buses for your event that fit both your budget and your capacity needs. If you have passengers requiring mobility assistance, we have ADA-compliant buses with ramps and lifts and our event staff is fully trained in safety procedures for passengers with mobility devices. For large events or airport arrivals, we offer event coordinators who can serve as the point of contact between the passengers and the drivers and ensure that everything runs smoothly. For groups more comfortable in foreign languages, we have reservation staff available who speak Spanish, Arabic, and French. OUR TEAM
Moving into our fourth decade, we are placing a renewed emphasis on taking care of our employees who make everything we do possible. In 2017, we became the first, and currently, the only transportation company to get certified as part of the Durham Living Wage Project, and we are committed to keeping pace with a living wage in the years to come. As of July 2019, the Durham Living Wage is set at $15 an hour, and we maintain this as our minimum rate of pay across all departments of our staff. In 2018, we added a full suite of benefits for all full-time employees, including health, dental, vision, life, disability, accident, and critical illness insurance options.
